Academics is assisting a highly regarded primary school in the London Borough of Bexley to recruit an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their dedicated team on a 12-month fixed-term contract from September 2026.

The Role
As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will deliver engaging, creative lessons that inspire children to become confident and successful learners. A key element of the role will be delivering high-quality phonics teaching, so experience of teaching phonics is essential. The school welcomes experience with any recognised systematic synthetic phonics programme, including Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., Sounds-Write, Jolly Phonics or similar.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or demonstrate strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum.
- Have experience delivering phonics using a recognised phonics scheme.
- Be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all pupils.
- Be a reflective practitioner with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
- Thrive as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
