A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Reading is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2026. About the Role:
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering inspiring and well-structured lessons that encourage curiosity, confidence, and academic progress. The school is looking for a Year 1 Teacher who can create a positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels supported and motivated to succeed.
You will work closely with experienced colleagues and teaching assistants to provide engaging learning opportunities and ensure all pupils make excellent progress throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Build a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with staff to enhance teaching and learning across the school
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Year 1 Teacher will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a Year 1 Teacher with excellent classroom management skills, strong communication abilities, and a genuine passion for primary education.
This opportunity would suit a committed Year 1 Teacher looking to join a supportive school community in Reading where staff development and pupil achievement are highly valued.
