Priory Hospital Altrincham has an opportunity for a yoga instructor to join our team. This is a sessional role.
Priory Hospital Altrincham, Hale, Cheshire provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for a range of mental health conditions and addictions, including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, OCD, phobias, PTSD and bipolar disorder. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Rappax Road and Altrincham railway station approximately 1–2 miles from the hospital.
What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Facilitate mindfulness and meditative practices, helping patients improve focus, encourage positive thinking, and build resilience.
- Complement psychological support offered by other professionals in the hospital.
- To provide continuous evaluation of patient’s performance, engagement, and recovery goals.
- Adjust therapy plans to reflect changes in physical or mental condition, offer feedback, and document outcomes to integrate with standard care metrics.
- Customise yoga programs targeting mobility, strength, flexibility, stress reduction, and mental wellness.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
- Certification: Minimum 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate (e.g., Yoga Alliance or a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga in the UK).
- First Aid: Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Soft Skills: Excellent public speaking, strong communication skills, and a calm, patient demeanour.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

The following experience would be beneficial
It is desirable to have previous experience of working in social care or healthcare or support environment, ideally as a care / support worker to ensure understanding of the context of colleague feedback and to translate this into realistic, deliverable recommendations.
