About the Role

Coventry City Council is recruiting for a Young Person Facilitator role within the Coventry House Project Supported Accommodation, collaborating with the National House Project in Coventry.

Key Responsibilities

As the Young Person Facilitator, you will:

  • Provide individual and group support to young people navigating transitions to independence.
  • Partner with agencies across social care, education, health, housing, and other relevant services to centre young people’s voices in decision-making processes.
  • Engage with the National House Project, including participation in:
    • Community of Practice meetings
    • Training and conferences

Requirements

All candidates must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK (sponsorship is unavailable for this role).
  • Undergo a DBS check, as this role is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will depend on a satisfactory police records disclosure.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

We seek:

  • A dedicated practitioner passionate about children and young people, with relevant skills, experience, and knowledge.
  • Direct experience in working with young people who are transitioning and leaving care, including those seeking independence.
  • A deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by care leavers.
  • Comprehensive experience in:
    • One-to-one mentorship with young people.
    • Facilitating group sessions.
    • Conducting home visits to support holistic development and wellbeing.
