About the Role
We’re looking for Young Person's Practitioners to join us as we develop new, meaningful work with young people and their families.
In these roles, you’ll provide focused, compassionate interventions that help young people overcome challenges, recognise their strengths, and move toward positive lifestyle choices.
You’ll work within community settings and alongside families, building trusting relationships and offering steady, reliable support. Strengthening family connections and addressing vulnerabilities is central to the role, ensuring each young person has the best possible foundation to thrive.
About the Service
Action for Children’s Intensive Intervention Service is a voluntary programme that supports children and young people aged 11–18 who may be at risk of or coerced into, serious offending or criminal exploitation.
The service offers intensive 1:1 support, group sessions, and positive diversionary activities that help young people build confidence, develop new skills, and make choices that lead them toward safer and more fulfilling futures. A key focus is helping them reconnect with their local community and work in partnership with other agencies to support routes into education, training, or employment and feel able to sustain those opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
