Description

Part Time /15 Hours Per Week /Permanent

Are you passionate about supporting children in Leicester? Are you able to work on your own initiative in difficult situations and show good organizational skills throughout? Here at Leicester City Council, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Children and Young People's Justice Service (CYPJS). A team that's sole purpose is to help prevent young people aged 10-17 at risk of crime, anti-social behaviour and exploitation; and those at risk of re-offending. Join us and you'll be involved in addressing issues that can lead to youth crime and will provide a supporting role to achieve better outcomes for our children and young people, families, victims, and communities, ensuring their views and experiences are heard and acted upon.

This is a permanent, part-time post working 15 hours per week (2 days per week, Monday and Friday). There will be some requiring availability for evenings and weekend work. As a team, we have access to several youth centres, neighbourhood centres, and council buildings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
