Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £25,092.00 to £28,783.00 (dependent on skills, knowledge and experience)
Location: Glasgow – Hybrid working (at least 3 days in the Glasgow Centre each week)
Assessment Centre: 21st July in the Glasgow Centre
About the Role
Are you a passionate advocate for 18–30-year-old entrepreneurs? Can you help transform their business dreams into reality? The King’s Trust is seeking a dedicated Youth Development Lead – Enterprise to join their team and drive meaningful impact.
At The King’s Trust, we empower young people, fostering the next generation of business leaders. Our Enterprise programme supports those interested in self-employment, helping them explore ideas, develop business plans, launch startups, or achieve alternate outcomes in education, training, volunteering, or employment.
As Youth Development Lead – Enterprise, you’ll be the mentorship and guidance champion for your caseload of young entrepreneurs, ensuring their successful entry into business ventures. Expect frequent travel to connect with your community, engage with local businesses, and participate in events—both as an attendee and presenter.
Your expertise will be needed in:
- Crafting robust business plans
- Creating cash flow forecasts and personal survival budgets
- Providing constructive feedback to refine ideas
- Preparing funding applications
You’ll also maintain accurate records to track each young person’s journey, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Act as a mentor to young entrepreneurs, guiding them to develop viable business ideas.
- Conduct smart conversations to identify support needs,ENT missions, and success targets.
- Help them build cash flow projections and personal budgets.
- Acquire skills like sourcing suitable office spaces and government subsidies.
- Deliver structured mentoring and support, accounting for limited contacts with clients.
- Respond to financial and career challenges (e.g., providing cyber security advice).
- Maintain six monthly management reporting to keep senior members apprised
- Ensure a torough support journey by:
- Measuring and tracking outcomes.
- Compiling case studies for the work’s social impact.
- Pitching fresh funding opportunities.
- Boost the self-confidence of young people, preparing them better for entrepreneurship or voluntary programmes.

Additional Tasks:
- Conduct regular meetups, workshops or team-building exercises, digital and in-person, to aid bonding.
- Organise and facilitate significant events like The King’s Trust Awards.
- Drive collaboration with employers, colleges, partner organisations, and business mentors.
- increase the King’s Trust’s donor base.
Requirements & Qualifications
Desired Skills:
- Experience as a careers advisor, tailored intervention worker, or within an equal opportunities regulatory environment or education sector.
- Clear communication skills to brainstorm business ideas and take notes on key consultations.
- Knowledge in IT, including delivery platforms, the cloud, chat-based video calls, e-signatures, and spreadsheets, primarily Excel.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively identify issues and present solutions.
