Job Description
Do you want a job that's fun, flexible, and genuinely makes a difference?
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Solent Youth Action, we believe every young person deserves opportunities to have fun, build confidence, develop friendships, and feel part of their community no matter what their personal barriers are.
We're looking for enthusiastic, caring, and reliable Youth Support Workers to join our passionate team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting young people aged 10-25 with mild to moderate additional support needs through youth clubs, holiday schemes, supported volunteering, and our Community Buddies programme.
No two days are the same. You could be supporting a young person to go bowling, watching a film at the cinema, helping run a cooking challenge, taking part in outdoor activities, facilitating games at a youth club, or supporting a group project at our outdoor skills centre.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
