About The Team & Programme

Join an exciting opportunity in the Youth Support Worker role, working within the King’s Trust Team Programme – a ground-breaking 12-week intervention for 16–25-year-olds (NEET: Not in Employment, Education, or Training).

You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive support package, including:

  • Session-based group facilitation
  • Work placement assistance
  • Personal development & challenge workshops
  • Guiding young people toward sustainable next steps
  • Hands-on community project involvement

Additionally, you’ll:

  • Attend three 4-day residential team-building activities per year
  • Collaborate with external agencies to promote and recruit participants
  • Build strong partnerships with local organisations

About The Role

This isn’t a typical job – it’s dynamic, hands-on, and transformative. At its core, you’ll be: ✔ Supporting individuals through personal and professional crises ✔ Designing engaging projects that empower young people to progress ✔ Acting as a mentor and advocate in a team-based environment

Every young person you work with will have unique challenges, from education attainment gaps to mental health barriers. Your adaptability, resilience, and ability to connect authentically will make all the difference.


Responsibilities

  • Session Delivery: Lead interactive workshops covering personal development, teamwork, employability, and life skills.
  • Direct Candourate Support: Use motivational training techniques to tackle disengagement and instigate change.
  • Work Placement Coordination: Help navigate young people into training, apprenticeships, or employment.
  • Milestone Marshalling: Collate and evidence progress across the 12-week programme.
  • Community Engagement: Whether networking or nurturing resilience in young people, your commitment will build bridges—between participants, aspirants, and those who can help.
  • External Partnerships: Work closely with an array of partner agencies to expand reach and support.
  • Core Competencies Diligence: Maintain up-to-date compliance with King’s Trust safeguarding & safeguarding training requirements.
  • Accountability for Results: Weekly checks with your Supervisor to summarise summary achievements.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Team Synergy: Proven collaborative ability, especially in multi-stakeholder settings (Youth Support Worker / Team joint work).
  • Self-Directed Capability: Problem-solving without micromanaging, prioritizing varied and sometimes competing tasks to deliver impact.
  • Administrative Aptitude: Keen eye for records, reporting, and ensuring compliance with documentation protocols.
  • Project Identification: Able to creatively design initiatives tailored to the king’s Trust’s values.
  • Mobility: Full UK driving license (required for Hare leases purpose, company-provided or own vehicle).

Desirable Criteria

  • Youth Experience: Technical or passionately motivated experience in university transition, financial inclusion, education, welfare-to-work, or parenting programs.
  • Cultural Context: Understanding of how macro and micro youth challenges impact progress.
  • Transferable Competencies: If you haven’t worked directly with youth, showcase where you’ve supported marginalized communities, demonstrated emotional empathy, or led learning-focused interventions.
