Job Introduction
- Job Title: Youth Support Workers
- Salary Range: £25,580 pa progressing to £26,924 pa
- Pro-rata Salary: £13.26 – £13.96 per hour
- Hours: Part-Time (5, 7.5, or 10 hours per week, evenings during term-time)
- Job Location: Districts across Hertfordshire. Specify preferred location at application.
- Contract Type: Permanent

About the Team
You will join one of 10 Services for Young People district teams, working directly with 11–17-year-olds who may face challenges in home life, education, or their community. Your role will focus on preventative intervention, informal education, skill development, and fostering emotional well-being.
In collaboration with experienced staff, you will co-deliver diverse programmes, including:
- Independent living skills
- Emotional well-being support
- Crimes and anti-social behaviour prevention
- Sexual health and relationship guidance

About the Role
Session Structure:
- Deliver 2.5-hour sessions during term time
- Flexible hours available:
- 5 hours = 2 sessions/week
- 7.5 hours = 3 sessions/week
- 10 hours = 4 sessions/week

About You
Essential criteria:
- Willingness to work evenings (including Fridays) in weekly groups
- Experience or engagement (voluntary/paid) in child/youth support
- Strong interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with vulnerable adults
- Insight into key challenges young people face (ability to assess needs and provide solutions)
- Teamwork orientation with proven collaborative contributions
- Commitment to training & professional development

Additional Notes
Due to an imminent Local Government Reorganisation (2028), assume potential role transfer under existing terms (TUPE principles).
