Reporting To

The Check Manager

Duties

  • Performing maintenance work of all levels on Embraer E-Jets, Bombardier DH8/Q400 and ATR 42& ATR 72 Series aircraft in accordance with prescribed airworthiness standards
  • Performing duties as assigned by Check manager, ensuring that all work meets the delivery requirements of the customer.
  • Co-ordinating resource for assigned aircraft zone and providing status updates on work accomplished to enable management of the check to critical path
  • Escalating issues identified impacting planned targets for assigned aircraft zone to the Check Manager
  • Ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards in line with regulatory compliance, quality & company procedures and always ensuring the safety of the team and aircraft.
  • Using the IT systems available as directed throughout the department to log the work completed.
  • Ensuring that all work performed is recorded on the appropriate paperwork and signed for on a progressive basis
  • Ensuring the correct use and control of aircraft parts and materials, ensuring production staff accurately book time to tasks and providing the required details for accurate NRC raising.
  • Assessing key skill sets within the support staff community, ensuring individuals have exposure to new tasks broadening their skill sets and capabilities.
  • Conducting competency assessments for base maintenance certifying & support staff as directed by the check manager
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of SMS principles and promoting a just culture environment where all incidents and occurrences are reported via the Exeter Aerospace reporting system
  • Role modelling high standards of husbandry both in the check office and on the hangar floor.
  • Deputising for the Check Manager and running the day to day of the maintenance input, attending customer meetings during the input and updating any check associated paperwork/reports.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to mentor and train engineers as they progress through the business.
  • Managing AOGs and ad hoc maintenance inputs, whilst reporting to a check manager, Ops and General manager as required
  • Adhering to the relevant airport regulations and procedures.

  • Hold a current CAA/EASA Part 66 B1/B2 Licence with type Rating for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on either Embraer, Q400 or ATR aircraft.
  • A good knowledge of MRO computer systems;
  • Strong communication skills; oral and written.
  • Ability to read and comply with repairs and instructions from the relevant manuals
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and flexible in their approach to work.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Hold endorsement on company authorisation for Cat C and/or form 1 and/or high-power ground run approval.
  • A good sense of commercial awareness;
  • Ability to work within a team;
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written;
  • Be able to pass a 5 year security background check;
  • Permitted to live and work in the United Kingdom without restriction.

Preferred Requirements

  • Cat C Endorsement on company authorisation
  • Experience and prepared to train others with tasks such as ground running, compass swings and other such endorsements
