Are you a specialist Occupational Therapist looking for the next step in your career, or already working at an advanced level and seeking a change?

About the Role

The York Hospital Elderly Frailty Team is seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to take on the role of Advanced Clinical Specialist.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, supporting integrated pathways across acute inpatient services at York Hospital. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and specialist expertise in frailty care
  • Driving service developments, quality improvements, and positive patient outcomes
  • Delivering highly specialist assessment, treatment, and occupational therapy for patients with complex physical, cognitive, psychological, behavioural, and social needs

This pivotal role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about advancing frailty and dementia care and eager to make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a complex caseload using advanced clinical reasoning and occupation-centred assessments
  • Leading specialist practice in frailty, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based care
  • Acting as a highly specialised clinical resource across the Trust
  • Providing supervision, mentorship, and leadership to staff and students
  • Driving service innovation, quality improvement initiatives, and research
  • Contributing to clinical audits and evaluation activities
  • Communicating complex and sensitive information with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
  • Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
