About the Role
The York Hospital Elderly Frailty Team is seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to take on the role of Advanced Clinical Specialist.
You will join a multidisciplinary team, supporting integrated pathways across acute inpatient services at York Hospital. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and specialist expertise in frailty care
- Driving service developments, quality improvements, and positive patient outcomes
- Delivering highly specialist assessment, treatment, and occupational therapy for patients with complex physical, cognitive, psychological, behavioural, and social needs
This pivotal role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about advancing frailty and dementia care and eager to make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a complex caseload using advanced clinical reasoning and occupation-centred assessments
- Leading specialist practice in frailty, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based care
- Acting as a highly specialised clinical resource across the Trust
- Providing supervision, mentorship, and leadership to staff and students
- Driving service innovation, quality improvement initiatives, and research
- Contributing to clinical audits and evaluation activities
- Communicating complex and sensitive information with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
- Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
