About the Role

Due to continued growth and expansion, Grainger Motor Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Group Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts Team based in Royston. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career within a successful and rapidly growing automotive retail group.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and posting daily cash sheets
  • Processing purchase invoices and self-billing invoices (SBIs)
  • Raising ad hoc sales invoices
  • Maintaining vehicle debtor ledgers
  • Reconciling manufacturer bonus accounts
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Posting bank receipts and payments
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Setting up and processing bank payments
  • Confirming customer receipts
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Responding to internal and external accounts queries
  • Providing cover and support for other members of the accounts team
  • Filing and maintaining accurate records
  • General office administration duties
  • Undertaking additional ad hoc tasks as required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be organised with strong administrative skills
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Have a positive, proactive approach to work
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (preferred, but not essential)
