Community Support Worker | West Lancs District Adult Disability Domiciliary Service | Part time

Community Support Worker (Part-Time) – Lancashire County Council

Salary £25,949 – £25,989 per annum | Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours/week) | Pro Rata Weekend pay increment: 33% | Bank Holiday/Sleep-in allowance: 50%

International Sponsorship: This role is not open to international sponsorship.


About the Role

Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible individuals who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.

What We Offer:

  • Support adults with learning disabilities in their own homes 24/7 (including sleep-in duties and weekend/weekday shifts)
  • A range of responsibilities covering person-centred support, including:
    • Assisting with daily living activities
    • Supporting access to community experiences (e.g., swimming, shopping, shopping, bowling, dancing)
    • Aiding personal care, medication administration, and financial matters
    • Ensuring health and well-being needs are met

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide personally centred support to individuals with disabilities (including those with profound and complex needs) to help them meet positive outcomes outlined in their support plan.
  • Ensure dignity and respect when assisting with daily needs, personal care, and health management.
  • Help service users access community activities and experiences (e.g., walking, nutrition, social events, or leisure activities).
  • Work in line with national legislation, service policies, and safeguarding guidelines.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with adults who have learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
  • Applicants without an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) will be required to complete the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment (terms will be discussed at interview). (Training will be funded by the service)
