Electrical Repair Technician

Location: Middleton, England (North West) Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum DOE Hours: Mon–Thurs (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM), Fri (7:30 AM – 1:30 PM) (with some flexibility) Employment Type: Permanent


About the Role

Kinetic Industrial, in partnership with a leading global supplier of safety components and solutions to the railway industry, are seeking an experienced Electrical Repair Technician to join their team.

This is a long-term, permanent position with opportunities for professional growth. The role involves hands-on work in electronics repair, troubleshooting, and process improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Setup and Maintenance

    • Setting up electronic systems and industrial devices.
  • Repair & Troubleshooting

    • Diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing industrial electronic equipment.
    • Identifying failures in electronic circuits at both component and board levels.
    • Utilising and calibrating test equipment for accurate repairs.
  • Component Repair & Replacement

    • Repairs and replacements of electronic components, including:
      • Diodes
      • Resistors
      • Capacitors
      • Integrated circuits
    • Soldering and desoldering components with precision.

  • Fault Isolation & Resolution

    • Isolating and resolving issues between test environments and the units under test.
  • Technical Documentation & Administration

    • Recording and analysing test data to assess equipment condition.
    • Maintaining accurate inventory records.
    • Reading and interpreting complex technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Continuous Improvement & Health & Safety

    • Attending training workshops to enhance technical skills.
    • Identifying inefficiencies in internal processes for optimisation.
    • Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an:

    • Electronic Technician
    • Electrical Repair Technician
  • (Completed exams in Electronics are not essential but beneficial.)

  • Strong technical skills:

    • Ability to interpret electronic schematics and product drawings.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
