Global Finance Assistant – Amplify U Work Experience Programme

As part of our Universal Music Group UK (UMG UK) initiative, we’re proud to introduce Amplify U—our Early Talent Programme. This three-month, paid work experience programme introduces emerging professionals to real-world opportunities within the music industry, fostering sustainable talent growth.


The Work Experience Programme

A structured, hands-on three-month experience for those aged 18 and over, exploring a career in the music industry. Participants will:

  • Join a specific department (Finance).
  • Gain practical experience supporting live business operations.
  • Develop professional skills through mentorship, networking, and hands-on learning.

The Role: Global Finance Assistant

This three-month placement will see you supporting the Global Finance team while immersing yourself in the financial operations of Universal Music Group, one of the world’s leading music companies.

You’ll work closely with experienced finance professionals, contributing to live projects, and getting a deeper understanding of how economics drives UMG’s global success.

You’ll be exposed to two key areas of the Global Finance team:

  • Global Financial Reporting
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting

  • Support the global finance submission process.
  • Assist in monthly consolidation by collaborating with international finance teams.
  • Prepare reconciliations, reports, and data analysis during monthly, quarterly, and forecasting cycles.
  • Help improve and maintain financial processes and controls.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Contribute to monthly management reporting and presentations.
  • Extract and analyze data from financial systems for regular and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Provide commentary and business insights across key performance areas.
  • Offer additional support as needed to the Global FP&A team.

Who You Are

  • Aged 18 or older at the time of application.
  • Passionate about a career in finance and music.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • A natural team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Effective communicator—oral and written.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (or equivalent).
  • Analytical mind with keen attention to detail.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conscientious and able to manage workloads while meeting deadlines under pressure.

Qualifications

No specific academic qualifications are required. Every background and experience level is welcomed.
