We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as Head Housekeeper at Aran Court Care Home in Birmingham. If this is the role for you, we’d love to hear from you!
About The Role
Your primary responsibility as Head Housekeeper will be to oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service, ensuring it aligns with our hospitality services function to deliver a high-quality and comprehensive care experience for all residents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
- Preparing orders for Home Manager approval for cleaning materials, balancing cost efficiency while maintaining stock control and purchasing high-quality products within budget.
- Monitoring cleaning and laundry team performance to uphold consistent high cleanliness standards.
- Supervising and directing the housekeeping team, providing coaching and guidance to new staff on correct wiping techniques, material use, and cleaning protocols.

About You
We’re looking for a candidate who embodies our values of caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability. Our ideal Head Housekeeper must:
- Have proven experience in cleaning and managing laundry operations within a public setting (e.g., care homes, hospitals, or similar).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety—including cough, sneeze, and handling, infection control, fire safety, and COSHH compliance.
- Show compassion and dedication to delivering a superior housekeeping/laundry service that aligns with our resident-focused approach.
- Be able to lead, supervise, and develop teams effectively.
- Commit to wearing appropriate non-slip cleaning uniforms (compact model pad).
