Assistant Boutique Manager – Sales (Reports to: Boutique Manager)

About the Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Boutique Manager to play a pivotal role in achieving a store’s success. This includes supporting the Store Manager in leading, coaching, and developing the team of Sales Associates to hit sales, customer service, and operational targets.

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Proven supervisory and coaching skills in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Retail operations expertise, including inventory management and cash handling
  • Ambitious, proactive self-starters with a passion for beauty retail and team development

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Boutique Manager at Jo Malone London, you will:

Customer Engagement & Event Management

  • Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with Jo Malone London’s fragrant, creative philosophy
  • Elevate in-store events, driving creative engagement (e.g., Hand and Arm massages, wedding consultations, floral crowns, cocktail master classes)
  • Host visits from global customers, colleagues, and media, showcasing Jo Malone London’s signature brand experience
  • Personify the "host with the most", embodying kindness, curiosity, and imagery of the brand

Operations & Team Leadership

  • Support the Boutique Manager in managing day-to-day store operations, ensuring business continuity in their absence
  • Maximise sales performance and team productivity, aligning with boutique and brand vision
  • Motivate and lead a team with clarity and authenticity
  • Maintain high visual merchandising (VM) standards and a clean, professional store environment
  • Complete administrative tasks with efficiency and timeliness

Sales & Omni-Channel Strategy

  • Foster an omni-channel approach, staying aware of competitor activity
  • Collaborate across department store teams for seamless execution

Essential:

  • Retail management experience (Assistant Manager/Supervisory experience preferred)
  • Proven track record in leading teams to meet sales and service targets
  • Personalised, authentic customer service skills
  • Experience in staff scheduling, sales analysis, and event creation/execution
  • Inventory/facilities management and cash reconciliation
  • Ability to work dynamic retail hours (days, nights, weekends, special events)
  • Familiarity with retail POS systems and Microsoft Office

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Retail experience in cosmetics/prestige beauty preferred
  • Proven supervisory/mentoring success in achieving targets
