Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner – NHS Scotland (Moray Area)
Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners are provided in partnership between primary care and mental health services for direct delivery of mental health access and wellbeing services in GP Practices. Their role focuses on individuals with a range of mental health conditions.
About the Role
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner will:
- Take a holistic approach to supporting individuals’ health and wellbeing, including education/health promotion, signposting, and connecting them to appropriate community groups and statutory services
- Provide practical and emotional support to enhance personal and community resilience
- Address wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing, and physical inactivity, to reduce health and wellbeing inequalities
- Work as a key part of the primary healthcare multidisciplinary team
- Increase community involvement and empower individuals through active participation

You will:
- Hold current professional registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Scottish Social Services Council, or Health Professions Council
- Operate across multiple GP practices within the Moray area
- Report to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator
