Smokefree Hampshire: Our Smoking Cessation Service
Smokefree Hampshire is your free 12-week programme that helps residents quit smoking, vaping, or nicotine use. Combining behavioural support and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), we provide a flexible, empowering path to quit.
We’re entering our second year and are excited to expand—so we’re hiring!
Role: Marketing Lead
About the Role
We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced Marketing Lead to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies for our stop-smoking service across Hampshire.
This role is critical to:
- Raising awareness of our service
- Driving user engagement
- Supporting individuals in quitting smoking
You’ll create and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, manage our digital presence, and analyse campaign performance—ensuring we achieve our annual goals.
As with all roles here, this one will be fun, varied, and challenging—because we avoid rigid job descriptions to help employees grow, play to their strengths, and adapt to change.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Management
- Collaborate with the Head of Service and Engagement & Partnerships Lead to develop and implement a marketing strategy aligned with our service’s objectives and target audience.
- Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Manage the annual marketing budget and ensure it’s allocated efficiently and proportionately.
Marketing Campaigns & Content
- Develop and maintain a marketing calendar to organise campaigns and activities.
- Evaluate and report on campaign effectiveness, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Create engaging content, including:
- Website copy & blog articles
- Social media posts
- Videos & infographics
- Implement and manage email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and promote our services.
- Collaborate with SEO experts to improve online visibility and drive website traffic.

Digital & Brand Management
- Work closely with Thrive Tribe’s Head of Brand and Marketing to optimise:
- Smokefree Hampshire’s website
- Social media channels
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all materials.
- Track website & social media analytics, adjusting strategies as needed.
Relationships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders, keeping them informed on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Lead the briefing and management of external agencies, designers, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, on-brand, and on-time outputs.
Performance & Data-Driven Decision Making
- Track KPIs to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Generate regular reports and provide insights to leadership.
- Use data to inform marketing strategies and improve campaign performance.
- Ensure alignment between marketing and service delivery.
Team & Culture Contributions
- Champion Thrive Tribe’s values and contribute to organisational culture.
- Support team environments whilst maintaining ethical standards (Safeguarding, Information Governance, Clinical Governance).
- Safeguard recruitment through DBS checks.

Contract & Salary
- Part-time role: 22.5 hours per week (permanent).
- Salary: £31,000 pro-rata, rising to £33,000 pro-rata annually.

Location
- Home-based, but occasional travel required for in-person meetings and events.
