Project-Based AI & Investment Specialist – Role at Mindrift


About the Opportunity

Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies, focusing on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems.

Key Details:

  • Participation is project-based, not a permanent employment arrangement.
  • Opportunities involve finance, AI integration, and policy alignment—not standard freelancing.

What This Opportunity Involves

Each project contains unique tasks. Contributors may be involved in:

AI System Testing & Policy Validation

  • Design and evaluate Quarterly Business Review (QBR) scenarios covering:
    • Performance vs. benchmark comparisons
    • Allocation drift against IPS (Investment Policy Statement) tolerance bands
    • Material fund document changes
  • Create rebalancing & tax-loss harvesting test cases, addressing:
    • Cost basis calculations
    • Differentiation of short-term vs. long-term capital gains
    • Application of wash-sale rules
  • Develop suitability check cases, reviewing alignment with:
    • Risk tolerance
    • Time horizon criteria
    • Prohibited holdings
    • Concentration limits per IPS
  • Construct fee-stack analysis cases, including:
    • Portfolio-weighted expense ratios
    • Advisory fee comparisons
    • All-in cost evaluations against benchmarks
  • Document test cases rigorously with:
    • Verified calculations
    • Policy citations
    • Clear correct answers

Requirements & Qualifications

Professional Fit

Ideal candidates are finance professionals open to project-based, non-permanent work. Preferred experience includes:

  • Investment management
  • Financial advisory
  • Broader financial services

Education & Experience

  • Degree in [Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field]
  • 2+ years of experience in:
    • Finance
    • Investment roles
    • Accounting
    • Financial services
  • Prior advisory & portfolio management experience (or close adjacency)
  • Technical familiarity with:
    • Portfolio performance analysis
    • Tax-lot accounting
    • Wash-sale rules
    • Investment Policy Statement (IPS) understanding

Certifications (Strong Signal of Qualifications)

  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner)
  • CPWA (Certified Private Wealth Advisor)
  • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
  • CIPM (Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement)
