The Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Design Engineer with hands-on experience in:

  • PLCs (Process Logic Controllers) and SCADA systems, or
  • DDC (Direct Digital Controllers) and BMS supervisory platforms

Experience in data centres and familiarity with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) is desirable.

A deep understanding of mechanical plant control and electrical equipment monitoring is essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with clients and a multi-disciplinary team (architects, electrical, mechanical, IT, structural engineers, etc.) to develop innovative, high-performance design solutions.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on submittals, witnessing factory commissioning (FAT/FCT) tests, and conducting site inspections—including on-boarding installations and signing off completed systems.
  • Advising and contributing to technical standards, specifications, and best-practice control strategies within our growing Building Automation team (20+ global members).
  • Engaging in global travel (approx. 4–6 week-long site visits per year) to see your designs implemented live.

The Skills

Required:

  • Proven experience in BMS/DDC/SCADA systems or PLC/SCADA controls within a consultancy or contracting environment.
  • Expertise in HVAC systems, including HVAC automation (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) to maintain optimal air quality, temperature, humidity, and pressure levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring minimal system downtime.
  • Clear communication and documentation skills for engaging with cross-disciplinary teams and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
  • A passion for continuous learning to stay updated with evolving industry standards and pushing boundaries in building automation.
