Relief Support Worker

Relief Support Worker – Newton Aycliffe, Durham

Salary & Pay Structure

  • £12.85 per hour plus rolled-up holiday pay

About the Role

We are seeking a Relief Support Worker to join our welcoming team in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. Our supported living service helps individuals with:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Complex needs
  • Mental health needs
  • Autism

Our mission is to deliver person-centred care, ensuring our service users live fulfilling and valued lives. This role is perfect for warm, caring, and proactive individuals who thrive in dynamic environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, high-quality personal care and practical/emotional support to service users.
  • Assist with cooking, cleaning, housework, and life skills development.
  • Engage service users in varied activities (housed and community-based) to make meaningful connections.
  • Manage behavioural support in a constructive manner.
  • Maintain admin duties, housing management, and relationship-building with service users.
  • Ensure every day is unique and engaging—this role demands hands-on adaptability.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential: At least 12 months of care experience.
  • A valid, clean driving licence is a prerequisite (UK).
