Location: Manchester, Lancashire, UK
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum of 3 days a week onsite) Type: Permanent, full-time
Due to our sector, successful candidates will be required to hold eDV clearance and be willing/eligible to progress to SC clearance.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Platform Engineer, your work will include:
- Designing and deploying applications and software in cloud or on-premises environments across our business portfolio
- Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure tailored to project needs
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to articulate and meet their technical requirements
- Automating and optimising development and release workflows
- Ensuring high standards of system security against cyber threats
- Troubleshooting technical challenges and producing robust, scalable software solutions
- Supporting cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring adherence to processes and maintaining system integrity

Required Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps methodologies
- Proficiency in cloud technologies, notably AWS or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools:
- e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef or Ansible
- Strong track record in deploying large-scale applications, leveraging platforms like:
- ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker
- Significant experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud-native alternatives)
- Expertise in scripting languages (using appropriate frameworks) and source control systems

Work Culture
- Working hours: Official 37-hour week, though adjustments made subject to team/role requirements.
- Friday finish: Enjoy a slightly later cut-off (1:30pm) to start weekends early.

- Site-based presence when necessary
