Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant – Social Sciences Support Role

Tower Hamlets
An “Outstanding” secondary school in Tower Hamlets, consistently achieving some of the highest GCSE and A-Level results in the country, is seeking a Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students across the Social Sciences department.
About the Role
As a Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with pupils in KS3 to KS5, providing classroom assistance, subject-specific intervention, and academic mentoring. You’ll also:
- Support learners with SEN
- Help remove barriers to learning
- Foster engagement in Geography

Key Responsibilities
- Providing in-class support in Social Sciences lessons
- Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students
- Assisting with lesson resources, planning, and marking
- Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds

Requirements
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a Social Sciences subject from a Top 20 UK University
- Outstanding academic record, including:
- Excellent A-Level and GCSE results
- Confidence in supporting A-Level Social Sciences students
- A genuine interest in education and social development
- Commitment from September 2026 to July 2027
