Store Manager – Retailing (Core Team Roles)
Job Summary
Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of retail store operations, ensuring all areas—engagement, performance, and guest experience—adhere to lululemon’s world-class standards. This role drives strategic execution, nurtures a growth-focused culture, and shapes the retail landscape of their community through talent development and inclusive leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
Leadership and People Management
- Create an inclusive, respectful team culture that values differences, empowering both team members and guests.
- Define a store vision based on key metrics (e.g., sales, foot traffic) and cascade goals to all staff.
- Assemble a diverse, high-performing team to drive store operations and reinforcing lululemon’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action) priorities.
- Lead hiring (recruitment, selection, onboarding), ensuring alignment with company values.
- Support ongoing learning and development by providing coaching, mentoring, and career guidance while addressing performance concerns in a fair and equitable manner.
- Conduct career discussions and plan professional growth paths for team members, highlighting opportunities at lululemon.
- Manage performance documentation and team member recognition, fostering continuous growth.
- Plan staff schedules to balance labour efficiency, availability, and budget while resolving employee relations issues (collaborate with People & Culture where needed).
Working With Others
- Build supportive, collaborative relationships with store teams to optimize the guest experience and uphold operational excellence.
- Encourage personal and professional development across all staff.
Guest Experience
- Set the educational and service standard through direct leadership, supporting product expertise and omnichannel transactions (e.g., BOPIS, phone sales, ship-from-store).
- Actively move across the floor to assess guest needs and maintain inclusive, high-touch service.
- Resolve eruptions with urgency—addressing escalated guest issues, emergencies, and requests.

Operations
- Oversee store profitability (P&L), aligning with sales goals, budget targets, and performance metrics.
- Develop quarterly and annual planning, including strategy, budgeting, recruiting, and team development/upskilling.
- Optimize floor operations by planning coverage and improving workplace efficiency while adhering to health and safety policies.
- Ensure all activities align with lululemon’s company policies, laws, and regulations.
Budget Responsibility
- Accountable for controllable budget, labor hours, and annual sales target compliance.

Job Requirements
Eligibility
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment (varies by region).
- Age: 18+ years.
- Must provide proof of Right to Work compliance with local legislative rules (EMEA only).
- Must self-transport to the assigned store location.

Availability
- Open to working a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Willingnessreqirements
- Thrives in both collective and independent work environments.
- Comfortable operating in spaces with bright lighting and loud music.
- Able to physically access every corner of the store during shifts to assist guests and manage inventory.
- Physically capable of handling up to 30 lb (13.6 kg) boxes.
Experience
- 1+ years in people management (supervisory or leadership roles).
Nice-to-Have (Equity-Considered) Traits
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Considered for (but not required) bachelor’s degree (or professional experience substitutes).
Experience:
- 2+ years in retail or sales management for accelerated success in this role.
