Location: Fox Hollies Leisure Centre, Birmingham B27 7NS
Salary: £15.88 per hour (up to) + excellent benefits Contract Type: Fixed term – 6 months / Casual Working Hours: 5–15 hours/week (Mon–Sun)
About the Role
At Birmingham Community Leisure Trust, we foster active, healthy lifestyles and provide inclusive, affordable sports and leisure facilities. Our passionate team delivers safe, fun learning opportunities for swimmers of all ages—from babies to future competitive athletes.
You will teach swimming lessons following the Swim England learn-to-swim framework, developing life skills while creating a supportive, development-focused environment. We offer flexible hours, career progression, and outstanding benefits to help you thrive in your role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, engaging, and progressive swimming lessons (including baby/pre-school sessions)
- Maintain high standards of customer service for participants of all ages and backgrounds
- Support learner progression—from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Contribute to the operational success of our leisure centres, with opportunities to progress into coordination or management roles

Requirements
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification:
- STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming
- Swim England Level 2 (formally ASA)
- Advantageous (but optional):
- RLSS UK NPLQ or STA Safety Award for Teachers (training available if not held)
- Must pass a DBS check
No prior experience required—training and upskilling are provided!
