Technical Services Manager – Burnley (Permanent, Full-Time)
About the Role
Equans is seeking a Technical Services Manager to join their team in Burnley on a permanent, full-time basis (40 hours per week). This role offers a competitive salary, bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
Reporting to the Account Manager, the Technical Services Manager (TSM) will oversee the Technical Services Team, including specialist contractors, to ensure the safe, continuous, and compliant operation of all sites under contract. The role focuses on standardising service delivery while aligning with company, contract, and local operating procedures.
What You Will Deliver
Team & Operational Oversight
- Manage the onsite technical team, including:
- Sickness, absence, and holiday oversight
- Participation in appraisals and performance management
- Ensure minimum service and unavailability deductions on all projects
- Maintain accurate monthly reports for the Account Manager
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Company, contract, and local operating procedures
- Relevant policies, codes of practice, and statutory requirements
- Maintaining professional standards
- Develop and implement a dynamic Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system aligned with evolving service demands and equipment requirements
Maintenance & Control
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance in line with:
- Budgetary constraints
- Agreed service levels and legislation
- Act as the Technical Advisor to:
- The Maintenance Team
- Relevant internal groups regarding engineering services management and operation
- Contingency planning initiatives
Safety & System Management
- Ensure risk assessments and method statements are current where necessary
- Maintain the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) system up to date
- Guarantee that reactive and PPM tasks meet project agreements

Who Are We Looking For?
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant professional certification: IOSH Managing Safely
- ONC/HNC in Facilities Management (or equivalent specialist trade qualifications)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a Facilities Management (FM) Operations Team
- Proven experience:
- Liaising directly with clients on similar FM projects
- Undertaking AP (Asset Performance) and RP (Right Person) duties in equivalent roles
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Relevant legislation and industry guidelines
- Health & Safety principles
- PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) systems
