About the Role
Tesco is seeking passionate colleagues to join our team as a Store Associate. This dynamic role ensures Tesco becomes every customer’s favourite way to shop by delivering exceptional service, fostering a welcoming environment, and driving sales while upholding Tesco’s values.
Successful candidates will receive our Tesco Colleague rate of pay, starting at £13.28/hour (adding up to £14.55/hour for locations within the M25). Additional location-based payments may apply if eligible.
- Guaranteed minimum hours: 16 hours/week
- Flexible working opportunities (from 12 hours) available for candidates
- Fixed availability windows, with 3 weeks’ notice given for scheduled shifts
We also offer flexibility for availability that closely aligns with our advertised periods, so please apply even if your schedule differs slightly.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Care & Experience
- Serving customers with enthusiasm, creating positive interactions with a smile and genuine care.
- Ensuring excellent and natural service—acting as a trusted partner for every shopper.
- Staying passionate and knowledgeable about store offerings to offer tailored advice.
Store Operations
- Supporting cross-store operations, including service, stock picking, and replenishment tasks.
- Adhering to product quality and customer service standards to avoid waste and maintain efficiency.
- Participating in seasonal/community events, fostering inclusivity and goodwill.
Performance & Accountability
- Monitoring and contributing to store performance indicators, such as service levels, sales, and shrink reduction.
- Making decisions that benefit customers while upholding established routines.
- Following all workplace policies and procedures to ensure safety and productivity.

Additional Duties
- Assisting in deliveries when required

Requirements & Qualities

Experience Helpful
🔹 Prior retail experience (back-of-house or customer-facing) is not mandatory but advantageous. 🔹 Interest in learning product knowledge or customer relationships.
