Warehouse Shift Manager – Wellingborough

About the Role

We are seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to join the team at our new site in Wellingborough. This full-time, permanent position will require you to lead, coach, and develop colleagues while maintaining high performance standards within a safe, high-performance culture.

You’ll work an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern with hours rotating weekly between:

  • 06:00 – 14:00
  • 14:00 – 22:00

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Take full operational responsibility for the daily running of the warehouse on your shift.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve challenging targets.
  • Ensure that service levels are consistently met.

Team Culture & Engagement

  • Create and maintain a positive team culture, actively encouraging participation and improving employee engagement.

Performance & Efficiency

  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and implement corrective actions to maximise warehouse efficiency.
  • Drive operational performance by prioritising tasks effectively.

What You’ll Need to Succeed at GXO

Experience

-A proven track record as a Shift Manager in a large, fast-paced warehouse environment.

  • Competent ability to use Warehouse Management Systems, with JDA/Red Prairie experience being advantageous.

Leadership Skills

  • Strong ability to manage conflicting priorities and plan a seamless warehouse operation.
  • Excellent people skills—authentically lead, develop, and manage a team, while recognising areas for growth and celebrating success.
